I See You in There
Brenda Robertson Del Monte MA, CCC-SLP
This book is a collection of personal stories of people I have come in contact with over my life but mostly over the last 23 years of my career as a Speech-Language Pathologist who specializes in augmentative and alternative communication (AAC). For those that don’t know that vocabulary, I usually explain my job by saying “think Stephen Hawking.” He is the most famous person I can think of that used AAC to communicate, and he is also the best example of a person who is highly intelligent but struggles to communicate verbally. He is a hero because he very publicly debunked that verbal ability and intelligence must go together.

Across the Rainbow Bridge
G.W. Burton

I also know that you have lost dogs, have had beloved canine companions who have crossed the Rainbow Bridge. In these pages you will find glimpses of your dogs, and that these stories will make you smile, or cry, but most of all remember.”

Some years back, Brenda Hauser, armed with a tin box, an old wood table, a folding chair and an umbrella, set up at the two-acre sweet corn patch on their property. Corn sold for fifty cents a dozen. She says that it was fun to see people come down the dusty road in their clean white cars and high heels to pick corn. It was such a success that the next year they planted five acres.
